Misty Ice Designs Site History
Mistyice Designs as it is now was created in March of 2005, it's pressence on the web while slow at first has increased over the time and it's grown into a place that I'm actually quite proud of.
Misty Ice Designs however, wasn't always what it is now. Originally it was called DarkfyreAnime.Com
So to truly give MiD's history we have to look there. DFADC was created in 2001, and was the second domain I ever owned, my first being Silver Moon Palace [dot] Net. Living a long life DFA went through 22 different layouts and three different hosts before finally resting in it's current dorment state. To this day I own the domain and have it hosted on my hosting account - but it's dorment until I have the time to refocus my attention on it.
DFA started out as an image gallery site, but seeing as I could never compare to such awesome sites as AnimeGalleries.Net I decided to just switch to a Anime Review site, but once again other Anime Review sites were just too much for little old DFA so we changed once again to a multi purpose site.
During those days DFA held a partnership with the sites Cross-Blades.Com and AnimeGFX.Com both of which have retired and do not exist anymore. The owners having pursued new directions. (CBDC is a gaming graphics site and AGFX is now AnimeReflections.Com)
The partnership went by the name Spellfyre Productions.Com which you might still see references lurking around to SFP - not many but they're around.
SFP is our mask host while Neoservers is our wonderful host of the past year. (Check them out =P ) They take good care of us there, which is the first host in a while to do that. When your host will talk to you personally over an issue and not route you through various other directions until finally talking to someone, you're on the right path.
So DFA was stuck, I didn't want reviews, I didn't want galleries... I wanted something though and then it hit it's next and final directon, a domain that provides free graphics to other people. The decision was simple because I make a lot of graphics, for no reason, so why not offer them for free to people. I'm still new to making the more fancy high tech like graphics, but I'm getting better at it. You never stop learning - you always gotta keep working because if you don't - you'll just wash out.
The decision came in February to change the name of the site. Took me a month to come up with Misty Ice Designs. And I still don't know how I came up with it.
Once I had the name it was a point of fixing up the rest.
Everything was slow going at first 100 visits a day if that... (Not hits, hits are repeat hitting of the site from even the same IP, visits are unique to IP address)
Over time we grew, and by now we're reaching 400-500 visits a day even breaking 1000 visits a days in November of last year.
Growth takes time and dedication.
The site has been and always will be an ongoing process of work for me and the people who help me out, so we hope as time goes on, we'll modify the history file and add lots of wonderful things to it.
2006 has marked new milestones for Misty Ice Designs as new blood comes in and helps keep things alive and going.
During the year there has been various struggles to maintain quality and still push for quantity that we want in order to keep the users visiting.
The year brought on new staff, bigger updates and great marks. Reaching the end of 2006 a reflection back shows me some rough times where the updates were bare and nil to times like now where great staff members like Kristen, Thornwillow, Gandizzl and MaruDashi have come to help and be a part of the team here.
We're making new steps and surpassing old goals. With this we're setting higher ones and hope to continue to grow larger and larger with members and with our stats.
Thanks for coming by and enjoy your Stay.
