MiD Past Layouts 2004-2003

These Layouts while labelled as Past MiD Layouts were done for DarkfyreAnime.Com. DFADC was my first real website (I've had others, they just weren't ... there really)
The switch was made for various reasons and so these layouts are all I managed to save from DFADC's previous versions.
With MiD I work to make sure things are lost in transition. But with DFADC quite a bit fell by the wayside.
Well then you can browse and look at some of my FAR earlier work.
You can read more about MiD's History as well if you desire to do so.

DFADC v7 - Pixellated

Version Seven was a tables layout where I tried to make something generic but at the same time make it full of content. It was during a time hwere I was trying to integrate my forums and my site to make it one.
Neat idea, but it really didn't last - wasn't up to quality.

DFADC v8 - Talismans

It's not very often that you'll find me using an iframe layout for something I want to show. I got in the feeling and thoughts that Iframes were the only way to do it so I was very hooked on them for a period of time, this layout is an example of when that was happening.
The layout was done in pink. Note - Pink is a hard color to work with. It'll either be wonderful and well liked or it'll be rejectedbecause it's too bright.

DFADC v9 - Last Kiss

This is another one of those iframe layouts. It was a phase. I was still liking it when I used it for the previous one but the previous one hadn't lasted because it was pink.
This one didn't last because it was a pain and a half to update. Didn't give me enough space and really iframes are good for collectives, or blogs... not for review or graphic sites.

DFADC v11 - Technical Remix

When I made this one the first thing Aaron told me was it wouldn't last. Why? Becuase it had no color. I didn't put a lot of color on it, it was full of dull dark nothingness and was just another attempt at me making something technical.
It was replaced with v12 - which was really just a mix of color dropped into this.

DFADC v12 - Chobits

This was really just me using the same thing and throwing an image and color into it.
Lasted a very short time

DFADC v13 - Version Moonlight

I still don't know why people like this layout. It was called version Moonlight and was the first time I tried to use a brush on a website design. Just a note - I used the brush wrong.

DFADC v14 - Heaven has found us

So I figured out how to use the brushes properly and switched the layout over to this one. This layout was NOT liked and the result on the forums from the users suggested that it was an all together bad idea.
So it lasted a short time, and I knew I had to do something better for the next one... Don't worry I didn't.

DFADC v15 - Reloaded

Noting I had to try and do something better, the first step was finding the image. The image here was fanart. DFA was becoming a fan site of Anime in general and so I started using fan art (With artists permission) for the layout. I was also moving to trying to change the layout once every month if not once every two months. This is a lot of work - best to spend less time doing that and more time making graphics for other people.
so with that in mind, I switched to this and the response was welcoming... but I don't think it was better.

DFADC v16 - Falling to Pieces

Nothing like falling to pieces. This layout was TRICKY I had to find the puzzle piece filter, and then I had to cut the puzzle pieces out.
The response here was overwhelming but the thing they hated - the colors. So out came version 16.5

DFADC v16.5 - Falling to Pieces

I did enjoy this layout. I didn't however enjoy having to change out of it... hah. The art was once again fanart. The artist's work is BEAUTIFUL I kept in touch with her for a while after using her layout. She featured my site on hers for a while too. Felt good.

DFADC v17 - Kawaii

Looking back as I do this, I can't remember much about this layout, other than to know... it didn't last long. It came as I was thinking of other things and trying to give my purple moo a purple layout <3

DFADC v17.5 - Kawaii 2

I tried to spice it up and ended up breaking it. Did not like this layout...

DFADC v18 - Best Friends

Enter the Iframe Stage again.
I DID enjoy this layout for quite sometime (Got bored of the light colors) mainly because the images used were drawn by a very special moo.
The images are of ESMoo and Myself. She drew and colored them for the webpage and I coded it into an iframe layout that I did so <3

DFADC v18.5 - Best Freinds

Trying to push the layout longer, I switched the colors.

DFADC v19

This was one of the MOST popular layouts I had. It's too bad I lost the background when I screencapped the layout. Everyone seemed to adore the simple look of it and how it looked like the girl was in a bath.
I ended up screwing up a few things and hating the fact her head looked cut off, but it was a pretty layout.
there were lyrics running in the background... wish I could read them, perhaps I'd remember what the name of this layout was. This was when I started using Music lyrics with my layouts.

DFADC v21 - Breaking the Habit

When I switched to this, the response was poor. People liked the other layout... heh. I liked the technical feel to this one. I actually still like this layout.
The layout not very popular... still had some good response.
... I lost v20 in case you're wondering...

DFADC V22a - DNAngel

Okay, so this is Version 22a. As most know I did Version 22 as a multi layout version. This means I had a few different layouts all up at the same time. I did NOT like this. While it gave the users the option to choose which layout they wanted, it also was a pain to edit and all the layouts needed to be similar in one way or another. Besides that I didn't like the layouts I made... heh.
This one is the first of the series and pretty much the only one I liked, thus it was the default one.
It features the characters from DNAngel, neat art to that Anime...

DFADC v22b - CCS

This is the second version... it's alright, but a little light for my tastes... I know I've done more and Version 23 is light too.
It's another one of those it's alright but ... meh I don't like it.
It's Sakura from Card Captors.

DFADC v22c - Unknown

The Third one was a little different, I can't make a purple layout if my life depended on it. I'll leave the purple to the purple goddess from now on because everytime I try and do one it turns out... ugly.
Can't remember the character right now.

DFADC v22d - KKJ

Red... big mistake a full out red layout only ever hurts the eyes. The lyrics for the layout and the idea was neat but didn't turn out as planned, more planning next time I want to do a red like layout and involve more black too... less pain for the eyes.
Oh the Character is from Kamakaze Kaitou Jeanne

DFADC v22e - Sailor Moon

A White layout... very cute, very nice, WAY to light... WAY WAY to light but what can I say, Sailor Moon c'est bein!
If you didn't guess already it's Princess Serenity from Sailor Moon.

And that ends DFA layouts... after this... 2005 came around and we became Misty Ice Designs.
