MiD Past Layouts 2006

These layouts are from Misty Ice Designs in the year 2006.

2007 :: 2006 :: 2005 :: 2004-2003

MiD v4 - Say it if it's Worth Saving Me

Well this layout was done in tan colors. On MiD's second layout someone told me to try more colors. So I decided I would.
This is about as different as I get. I still find blue to be the most calming and accepting color on the net. It's true if you see a lot of it you'll want something different but it's honestly the easiest to work with.
This layout however brought into play something MiD Needed. Drop down Menus.
It also saw the Icon of the Moment, Layout of the Moment and Quote of the moment. Making our page dynamic and different from most static pages out there.
Hopefully more great things will come as time goes on!

MiD v5 - Time of Your Life

When you think of Ice the only color I can think to truly represent Ice is Blue, even though Ice is clear we use blue to represent the sky and water. Both of which are by technicality... clear.
Anyway, this layout was done in the MiD typical blue fashion and was used to really display our Layout of the Moment and Icon of the Moment and Quote of the moment making them more of a highlight. It continued with the Drop down menus of which for the most part did their trick.
The lyrics were from Green Day's Song "Time of Your Life" very good song if you really listen to the words.
It had a good run and a good life!
Now it's on to the Layout Graveyard for it's memories.

MiD v6 - Blue Sky Holiday

So another blue/pink/purple color and I'm sick of the light colors. This layout marked a lot of firsts for us. The first time we hit over 1000 uniques in one day, the first time we had our layout stolen chopped up and made into a banner. >.< Because you know that's fair play.
The first time we made layouts of the other attempts to make this layout and put them up for other people to use/take.
The point in which LPS admitted defeat and started asking other people for help. ;_;
All in all it was a good run with the layout but really I need something new, something different.
The lyrics were from "Bad Day" by Daniel Porter and the graphic was retrieved from Boyis.Com Fun layout to do and one of my favorite images to play with, I just <3 that elf.
It had a bad day and went into the graveyard. /ouch.

MiD v7 - Ringbearer

Ever put something up and then almost immediately regret it. Probably the shortest running layout on MiD Version 7.0 was uhm bright. You can see in the image (Though I forgot to screen cap it while it was online and running so the icon and layout of the moment are showing broken images instead of showing what they should show. ;_; )
The layout was err... bright? I'm not sure how to put it. I was going for a firey look and I found myself almost instantly regretting the decision.
I switched to the lighter version 7.1 after recreating the layout.
So short run layout with mix reviews though most found it not that great. It never even made it past the firefox fixes. Isn't it wonderful when I have to -fix- my layout to work in firefox. I don't advertise that we're designed for Firefox, my main reason for hating Firefox is that things that work fine in IE don't work in Firefox, but anything that works in firefox works in IE, so people who say you have to code to appease IE are wrong. It's the other way around, you have to modify coding to appease Firefox users.
Anyway I'll stop ranting before I get the firefox fanboys or fangirls on my case. It's just not for me. IE7 has the few features I wanted from Firefox, so I'm content.

MiD v8 - Odango Atama and Mamo-chan

Those who really know me, know I'm a HUGE Sailor Moon fan, like massively huge. If I could just waste money and collect Sailor Moon things I would.
Anyway, I made this layout when I was dead set and determined to get a Sailor Moon layout out in lighter colors for the season, and so voila, the first pink layout I've done that's lasted longer than well anything I've done.
Of course my second favorite is Noir which is what v9 became. xD you can read about that part later =P
The layout had mixed reviews, of course the male audience didn't like it and a few found it to be one of my ... well lesser works.
I just enjoyed the colors and how they worked together.
This layout worked in all browsers rather easily and so it was a nice change for the coding aspect.
Personally, I loved it, but alas all good things must come to an end!

MiD v9 - Something's Gotta Give

This was switching drastically from the pink layout to something dark. The coloring was different and somewhat ironic with out name being Misty "Ice" Designs.
I enjoyed the technical feel of this layout. Using the characters from Noir, Mireille and Kirika this layout was done with a blood splatter effect across the top and focused in on more fall-like to early winter theme.
The images were done with rollover effects instead of CSS, which we switched out of due to loading times.

MiD v10 - Happy Holidays

The green colors is a touch of something different that I've typically shyed away from. This layout marked quite a few firsts for me here at Misty Ice Designs.
One of them being my shying away from typically used colors, another was using a stock image that I could technically have used in a "pay" layout. I'm also using the image in a method I've not done before, which was small and to the side. I'm fond of it, and I'm fond of hte way the colors turned out, but there are small things that I'd like to change, things tht once I get better at making graphics I might learn to do.
Misty Ice Designs became a team of six under this layout and it was a start to something new... we'll see how it goes!

This marks the end of the layouts for 2006.
