Creating a Simple Link
Everyone likes to link to other sites of theirs, the more people that link to a site, the higher the search rating on the search engines, so we all like links to our sites and we like to link to other sites... So lets learn to create a link.
We've got to open the tag!
<a href="http://www.mistyicedesigns.com">
Now I put http://www.mistyicedesigns.com you just need to put the URL(Site address) to the site you want to link to in it's place... Hey if you want to link to me too I like that <3
And of course we have to close the tag, after we type something. Usually the site name.
</a>
So for creating a link to my site it would look like this in your code <a href="http://www.mistyicedesigns.com>mistyicedesigns.com - A Webmaster's Resource</a>
And come out like this mistyicedesigns.com - A Webmaster's Resource
It should have a line underneath it and by default be blue with no hover over effect, we'll learn how to change all that in a later lesson.
In later lessons you'll also learn how to make the link pop up in a new window, open within a target frame, break out of the frames and open in the same page, and how to make the link a picture instead.
